Tax Credit for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources in Irving Texas

by admin on May 17, 2010

The Texas government offers tax incentives for renewable sources of energy. Even some of the local Irving TX electric providers provide the incentives, rebates and low cost loans for energy efficient programs. Texans can easily enquire about these incentives from their local electric companies.

There are also incentives for businessmen who use renewable energy in their manufacturing units. For instance, companies that use solar energy, wind energy or the bio-diesel for their business get a franchise tax deduction or even immunity from such taxes at times. The renewable sources of energy bills comparatively lower rates.

Federal government also provides property tax immunity for business using biomass, wind energy and solar energy. However, the Texan Government does not have any program at this point in time which provides incentives on equipments of renewable energy on an entity base, but in some particular cases there are tax exemptions available.

There are incentives for buying, installing and using the solar equipments under The Energy Policy Act 2005. In the last 20 years, this is the first ever established residential tax incentive for solar energy. A tax acclaim is a deduction for the businesses or an individual’s tax liability. This facility is available only for the solar panels installed and used from 1st January 2006 to 31st December 2008. After the due date, the tax credit relapses to 10%.
